“Acer to showcase new AMD powered notebooks at Computex 2019”

Computex 2019 begins next week but Acer is already sharing details about its new laptops that will debut at the tech conference. The manufacturer will showcase new versions of its Acer Nitro 5 and Swift 3 notebooks, featuring the second-generation AMD Ryzen Mobile processors, from May 28 to June 2 at Xinyi Plaza in Taipei. The notebooks also have updated graphics chips to focus on upgraded HDR visuals for improved streaming and gaming.

The Acer Nitro 5 notebook has a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. It runs the second-gen AMD Ryzen 7 3750H processor and Radeon RX 560X Graphics chip. Some connectivity highlights include its Gigabit Wi-Fi 5 with 2×2 MU-MIMO support. The Acer Nitro 5 includes HDMI 2.0 and USB Type-C 3.1 ports, as well as a “CoolBoost” technology that helps keep the notebook cool while executing heavy processes, such as gaming. The feature speeds up the Nitro 5 fans by 10 percent, keeping the notebook approximately 9 percent cooler than when in its standard mode.

The Swift 3 is Acer’s thin and light notebook, featuring a 14-inch display, a 1.45 kg weight and 17.95 mm thickness. The Acer Swift 3 runs the second-gen AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processors with Radeon Vega Graphics chip. Though consumers have the option to upgrade to the Radeon 540X graphics chip for a more powerful, producivity-focused device. The notebook also has the ability to lay flat at 180-degrees.

Acer has not yet revealed pricing and availability details for the new Nitro 5 and Swift 3, but that information will likely be made public once Computex is underway.
