Amid many rumors, details about the Samsung Galaxy S11e, in particular, have now surfaced giving a hint of how the smartphone may be designed. Popular leaksters, Pricebaba and Onleaks have collaborated once again to deliver the first render leaks of the Galaxy S11e.
The CAD renders highlight, in particular, a curved display design with a centered lens cut out for the selfie camera. Renders of the device’s rear reveal a triple camera set up in a module, similar to designs seen on the new iPhone and devices from other brands, such as Huawei. Leaks have also shown this design on the standard Galaxy S11 models, much to the chagrin of many in the industry.
This indicates that the camera module is pretty now commonplace among smartphone makers. Samsung has previously made a habit of holding out on many of the current mobile design trends. The manufacturer resisted the large and intrusive notch trend for as long as it could. When it did introduce its own iteration of the notch, it opted for a smaller, teardrop design that only housed the selfie camera.
Samsung has preferred to outfit its devices with a hole punch design or have no obstructions on its displays; however, the manufacturer seems to have given in rather quickly with this design option. Samsung has notably experimented with this design on other, regional models, such as the Galaxy M30s, but the rectangular camera module is a first for its flagship series.
Delving more into the camera, its triple-lens set up is a clear upgrade from the previous Galaxy S10e, which features only two lenses for its main camera. Perhaps the Galaxy S11e will receive a telephoto lens, in addition to standard and ultra-wide lenses. The renders also show an LED flash within the module.
In comparison, the other Galaxy S11 models could have up to five lenses, according to leaks and rumors. It remains uncertain whether the Galaxy S11e would also the 108-megapixel camera sensor and 5x optical zoom support rumored for the standard models.
Another first revealed in the renders is a potential removal of the headphone jack for the Samsung Galaxy S11e. An audio port is not visible anywhere on the handsets, which suggests Samsung has done away with the feature after many years of teasing rivals doing the same. Similar to the likes of Apple and Google, this could be a further push that the lack of a headphone jack will be a more premium design as well as a way for manufacturers to promote their wireless headphone options. Many noted that Google released its Pixel 4 without a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle in the box.
Other details revealed by the renders suggest the Galaxy S11e may be between 6.2-inches and 6.3-inches diagonally. It will likely be 151.7 x 69.1mm x 7.9mm in dimensions with its width reaching 9.1mm due to the camera bump. The renders also reveal a USB-C port as well as the main microphone and speaker grill.
The general rumors circulating about Galaxy S11e actually suggest a 6.4-inch display. The device may also feature the soon to be announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip or the already announced Samsung Exynos 990 chip depending on the region, 6GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage options, possibly with microSD expansion.
The Galaxy S11e may feature a 3,730mAh battery and may be available in 5G and 4G LTE models. Rumors suggest the standard Galaxy S11 may also have these connectivity options while the Galaxy S11+ may be strictly 5G. The smartphone may also release in blue, gray, and pink color options.
