The Pixel 4a has all been unveiled in a massive live leak that showcases most of its primary features. The Spanish-speaking YouTuber TechnoLike Plus got a hold on a model of the unreleased device and did a full hands-on video of the device, confirming many features that were already suggested by sources including XDA-Developers. Many expect the handset is a pre-production model of the Pixel 4a, never the less, it has given a pretty clear idea of what Google has in store for its upcoming smartphone.
Getting down to business, the video revreals a 5.81-inch display for what will likely be the standard Pixel 4a because Google is expected to also release a larger XL version. The display is detailed as having a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and 443 dpi. Hardware includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 with and Adreno 618 GPU, 6B of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as well as a 3,080 mAh battery and USB-C.
The YouTuber spends some time going over camera details for the Pixel 4a, which include a 12-megapixel rear sensor with LED flash and 4K video recording and an 8-megapixel front senor with video stabilization. Design-wise, the leak reveals a rather large hole-punch for the front camera and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. As Google has already confirmed, the 3.5mm headphone jack will now be relegated as a feature for its budget model smartphones.
The Pixel 4a will feature connectivity including 4G, Dual SIM, GPS, WiFi 5, Bluetooth, and GLONASS, in addition to the Android 10 operating system.
While this leak tossed much about the Pixel 4a right out of the rumor mill, a lot about the Pixel 4a XL remains under wraps. However, there is still plenty of time for details about the larger model to surface. Leakster, Onleaks suggested in early February that the device may feature a display between 5.7-inch to 5.8-inches, with many standard specs very similar to the standard model.
Google will likely showcase the new devices in May during its I/O conference; however, the anticipated keynote has been relegated to a live stream only event as the tech giant has canceled the physical conference due to concerns behind the Coronavirus.
