OnePlus’ upcoming device showcase takes place Tuesday and in addition to the new OnePlus Nord affordable 5G smartphone, the manufacturer is set to announce OnePlus Buds. The brand’s first pair of truly wireless earbuds will likely sell for $99.99 when launched, according to an Instagram teaser shared by OnePlus. Many other specs, details, and images have been leaked.
Most recently, 9to5Google shared an image gallery of the OnePlus Buds design and color options. The earbuds will be available in matte black, white, and blue color options with a flat circle design similar to the original OnePlus Bullets Wireless. The images match up with a recent live view, as OnePlus CEO, Carl Pei was spotted wearing the OnePlus Buds in the blue color option during an interview with YouTuber, MKBHD.
Also included are images of the oval-shaped charging cases, which features a battery indicator light on the front and a pairing button on the back. Directional images showing how to fast pair the earbuds by tapping them to a handset. The leak also reveals features, including Dolby Atmos support, a “Find my Device” option, a new “sound types” equalizer settings, touch controls, and an accompanying app. The details originate from the APK of the brand’s latest update for the OnePlus 8.
OnePlus has also confirmed that its truly wireless earbuds will support up to 30 hours of playback time, with 7-hours of playback from a single charge on the buds and 23-hours of additional power from the charging case. They will also include a Warp Charge feature that adds 10 hours of use in a 10-minute charge. While the OnePlus Buds will not support wireless charging, their 430mAh battery capacity will support charging from any 10W charger with a 5v 1.5A charging limit from the case to maintain the integrity of the battery. The buds also weigh in at 4.6 grams and the case at 36 grams.
The OnePlus Buds and OnePlud Nord smartphone will be unveiled in an AR launch event on July 21. The event begins at 10 a.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. IST) and can be accessed via the OnePlus Nord AR App for the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
