“T-Mobile launches exclusive LG Velvet 5G model with MediaTek SoC”

T-Mobile has announced its own carrier exclusive model of the LG Velvet smartphone, which will launch on September 10 in Aurora Gray and Pink White color options. The LG Velvet 5G will sell for $24.50 per month for 24 months or for $588 full retail. T-Mobile is also offering customers a half off deal if they trade-in an old device or add a new line of service.

This LG Velvet 5G model stands out due to its use of the MediaTek Dimensity 1000C chip to enable 5G. The SoC configuration allows the device to support T-Mobile’s 600 MHz and 2.5 GHz LTE and 5G spectrums. The carrier recently turned on 2.5 GHz spectrum for 5G in 81 new locations in the U.S., giving the LG VELVET 5G even more opportunity to be among the still early adoption of 5G.

Another differentiating feature on the T-Mobile LG Velvet 5G is its 4,000 mAh battery. Other models of the device feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip and a 4,300 mAh battery.

The rest of the specs remain the same, with a 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 2TB, USB-C port and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ support, and Android 10 software.

The device features a triple rear set up with a 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth lens, as well as a 16-megapixel front camera. Some highlight camera features include time-lapse control, ASMR recording, voice bokeh, 3D AR stickers, and 3D photo effect.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as IP68 water and dust resistance, as well as LG Pay, Stereo Speaker, LG 3D Sound Engine, AI CAM, and HDR10. In addition to 5G connectivity, the LG Velvet also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC.
