“OnePlus 8T price and specs official; highlight 120Hz display and 65W fast charging features”

The OnePlus 8T is now official, with a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED display and Warp Charge 65 among its highlight features. The latest OnePlus premium smartphone will be available for preorder starting today in the U.S. and will launch on October 23rd, selling for $749.

OnePlus has experimented with several device avenues throughout 2020, having introduced an OnePlus 8 Pro model earlier in the year, and also unveiling a new, mid-tier product line in the OnePlus Nord. The OnePlus 8T is a testament to the brand’s dedication to bringing flagship tier specs to market at affordable prices and now also having quality products at several different price points.

The now confirmed OnePlus 8T specs include a 6.55-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080) 2.5D display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and a Corning Gorilla Glass covering. OnePlus highlights its 1,100 nits brightness and its 0.3 JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference) ratio, which helped the device get an A+ rating from DisplayMate. It also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip enables dual-mode NSA/SA 5G and Wi-Fi 6 on the OnePlus 8T with the help of an X55 modem. The SoC also includes the Adreno 650 GPU. The device will be available in 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options (the U.S. will get the larger model). Its software includes the latest Android 11 version with an OxygenOS 11 overlay with Always On Display clock options, improved one-handed gesture controls, and Zen Mode 2.0 highlight features.

The OnePlus 8T is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery, which supports 10V/6.5A Warp Charge 65 fast charging, allowing for a full day’s charge in just 15 minutes. The 8T is designed with two 2,250mAh cells, which OnePlus claims can charge from zero power to full in approximately 39 minutes. The brand also highlights the handset’s 12 temperature sensors and the encryption chip in the adapter and cable to keep the 8T protected on several fronts.

The smartphone also includes an elaborate quad-camera system with a 48-megapixel main lens (Sony IMX586) with f/1.7 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (Sony IMX481) with f/2.2 aperture and a 123-degree field of view, a 5-megapixel macro lens with a 3 cm focal length, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens.

In addition to OIS, EIS, dual-lens flash, and multi-autofocus (PDAF, CAF), the OnePlus 8T camera system supports video up to 4K at 30/60 fps and includes a number of features, such as CINE Aspect Ratio Video Recording, Video Portrait, and UltraShot HDR, among others.

Its front camera is a 16-megapixel lens (Sony IMX471) with EIS and f/2.4 aperture, with the ability to shoot 1080p video at 30 fps and Face Unlock, HDR, Screen Flash, Face Retouching features.

Other features include a USB-C 3.1 port, which doubles as its audio port, a dual nano-SIM slot, haptic vibration, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and noise cancellation support.

The OnePlus 8T is available in Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver color options.

In addition to U.S. availability, which includes Amazon.com and an OnePlus 8T+ 5G model from T-Mobile, the OnePlus 8T is now available for preorder in Canada, selling for $1,099 (CAD).

European availability includes Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

The OnePlus 8T will also sell in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and India in Asia.

OnePlus Buds Z

In addition to the OnePlus 8T, the brand has also announced the OnePlus Buds Z, which will be available starting November 2nd. The truly wireless in-ear headphones feature dynamic 3D stereo powered by Dolby Atmos as well as 20 hours of playback time. A 10-minute charge in their case also provides three hours of additional playback.

Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, environmental noise reduction, Quick Pair, Quick Switch, and an IP55 rating. The earbuds will be available in a white color option, as well as a special-edition colorway by Steven Harrington.
