The latest devices by the Chinese brand, Realme are the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro, which will release first in India on March 25. The devices will later be available in Europe starting March 31.
While many brands have been using mainly RAM and storage to differentiate between their standard and pro models, Realme has done a good job at developing two distinct devices for its series. The Realme 8 Pro gets to stand out with a Samsung-made 108-megapixel main camera, while the Realme 8 brings an AMOLED display to the standard model for the first time.
Some critiques include the devices being inodiated with old features from previous models, such as processors and battery capacities, Android Authority. Overall, the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro include its share of impressive specs and compromises for solid devices that should prove appealing to consumers price-wise.
Realme 8 Pro
The Realme 8 Pro features a 6.4-inch FHD+ sAMOLED display also made by Samsung, with a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chip and includes 6GB and 8GB RAM options and 128GB of internal storage.
In addition to the 108-megapixel main lens, the quad-camera set up includes an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel black and white lens; as well as a 16-megapixel front-camera. Some camera features include super nightscape mode, 3x zoom, astrophotography, tilt-shift mode for photos and video, dynamic bokeh mode, dual-video, cinematic portrait. Meanwhile its front camera includes AI-beauty, portrait, and nightscape modes.
The Realme 8 Pro runs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast charging, as well as Android 11 for software with a realme UI 2.0 overlay. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Dual-SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C, and Hi-Res Audio support.
Color options for the Realme 8 Pro include Infinite Blue, Infinite Black, Punk Black as a Europe exclusive, and Illuminating Yellow as an India exclusive. Design-wise, the device has a glass back panel with a matte finish. Its measurements are 160.6×73.9×8.1 mm and it weighs 172g.

The Realme 8 also features a 6.4-inch FHD+ sAMOLED display with a 180Hz touch sampling rate, but its processor is the MediaTek Helio G95. It comes in 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options with 128GB of internal storage.
Its quad-camera set up includes a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra wide lens, a 2-megpixel 4cm macro lens, and a 2-megpixel monochrome lens. It also features 16-megapixel front-camera. features include AI, selfie, & Neon portrait, dynamic bokeh, dual-video, UIS max video stabilization, cinema mode, tilt-shift mode, and more.
The Realme 8 runs a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, as well as Android 11 for software with a realme UI 2.0 overlay. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm jack, and USB-C.
Color options for the Realme 8 include Cyber Silver and Cyber black. Its measurements ae 160.6 x 73.9 x 7.99mm and it weighs 177g.
Realme 8 Series Price and Release Details
The realme 8 Pro models will sell for 17,999 and 19,999 respectively in India, while the realme 8 models will sell for 14,999, 15,999, and 16,999. The devices will be available on Flipkart, realme.com, and in retail stores.
The realme 8 Pro models will sell for EUR299 and EUR279 respectively through the Realme website in the U.K. The devices are currently available for preorder through March 20. The brand’s preorder deal take EUR20 off the price before its officially launches the next day.
