The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE remains elusive as yet another prospective launch date has come and gone without the device being made official.
Late August rumors suggested that the Galaxy S21 FE would be unveiled on September 8; however, current news indicates the device is still being affected by the global component shortage, semiconductors in particular. The device was originally expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables in mid-August but that date came and went with only a teaser of the Galaxy S21 FE.
Still, there are several indications that Galaxy S21 FE is in fact on its way. Recently, a report from leakster Jon Prosser said it will likely be announced sometime in October, with preorders for the device opening October 20 and the smartphone going on sale October 29.
Meanwhile, the device continues to pop up in random places. Here are some clues that the Galaxy S21 FE announcement is right around the corner.
Google ARCore Support Page Leak
The device’s most recent appearance has been on Google’s ARCore support page. The company has recently updated its page with eighteen devices that are now in accordance with its AR support, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Vivo X60 Pro+, and Motorola edge 20, among others.
Google included the Galaxy S21 FE among this list despite the device not being officially released. It has since removed the device from this list, but not before catching the attention of several media eyes. Many consider this as evidence that the Galaxy S21 FE is behind schedule in being announced.
Device Support Page Live
A Galaxy S21 FE support page has also been seen live, suggesting an imminent announcement. TechnikNews discovered the support page for the device under the model number SM-G990B/DS on the Samsung Germany website. Once again, the page has since been removed, but not without screencaps. While the page does not share much by way of details, it is pretty much just a placeholder page, it does suggest that Samsung is still prepping for the Galaxy S21 FE launch. The device is known to be associated with the SM-G990B model number.
Google Play Console Listing
The Galaxy S21 FE recently appeared on the Google Play Console featuring a Samsung Exynos 2100 chip. This listing ultimately backs up a previous Geekbench benchmark listing that revealed details about the Exynos 2100 variant of the Galaxy S21 FE. There is also expected to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 model and each will be available depending on the market. However, this listing surfacing so close to the prospective launch time is just another reminder that the Galaxy S21 FE is still on its way.
Other Not So Recent Hints
Other hints of the Galaxy S21 FE being close to launch have been its Cricket Wireless startup guide surfacing in early September. Cricket Wireless is notably the prepaid carrier for AT&T. Through this leak we learned that the device will likely be available in White, Green, Gray, Violet, and Blue color options and that it likely won’t include a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy S21 FE may feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, or Exynos 2100 chip, 6GB and 8GBRAM options, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, a 4,500mAh battery with 45W charging support, and Android 11 software.
It is also expected to feature a triple rear camera with a 12-megapixel main lens, 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and an 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel telephoto camera, as well as a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Other notable features for the Galaxy S21 FE may include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wireless Power Transfer, an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 rating, stereo speakers, and possibly also wireless charging.
