“New Camera-Focused Moto Edge X30 Model Rumored for Imminent Release”

After announcing the Motorola Moto Edge X30 last month, the Lenovo-backed brand now has plans to release a camera-focused update of the device, featuring an under-display camera sensor, media reports said.

The device will be called the Moto Edge X30 Under-Screen Camera Edition and it will be an exclusive to the Chinese market. Lenovo China Mobile Phone Business, General Manager, Chen Jin recently teased the device’s retail packaging, all but confirming its existence.

The original Motorola Moto Edge X30 was the first smartphone to release with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The Under-Screen Camera Edition is expected to run the same chip, and is also rumored to feature a 60-megapixel Samsung Omnivision OV60A sensor as its front-facing under-display camera.

So far, no other specs are known about the Moto Edge X30 Under-Screen Camera Edition. Media currently assumes that the device will share most of the same hardware as the original Moto Edge X30, including a 6.7 inch Full-HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB and 12GB RAM options, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, a triple-camera setup with a 50-megapixel main lens, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support, Android 12 software and an in-display fingerprint reader.

The device also uses a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor for its ultrawide lens. Overall, Motorola has committed to outfitting its smartphones with the industries top camera lenses. Samsung announced its 200-megapixel sensor in September 2021 and Motorola has plans to use it in a device before Samsung unveiles it on its own mobile cameras on the Galaxy S23 in 2023.
