“Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Release Date Confirmed for February 9 as Galaxy S22 Reservations Open with $50 Credit”

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked launch appears to be on track for February 9 as the brand has open reservations for fans to sign up and learn more about its upcoming devices.

Reservations first opened on Thursday, with Samsung advertising that those who sign up will receive a $50 credit toward pre-orders when they open in February. The marketing did not specify which devices will be available, but rumors about the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Tab S8 series have been circulating for some time. Media expects that both product families might be announced at the same event; however, the Galaxy S22 series will likely be the headliners of the Galaxy Unpacked event.

Reserving your Galaxy device is as simple as offering your email address, which we did via Facebook Messenger. It does not commit you to purchase anything. You really just get subscribed to Samsung’s mailing list, which you can unsubscribe from later if you want. However, you can get to other deals and discounts as a benefit of being a part of the mailing list. Pre-orders won’t be available until after the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series are official, and those who are a part of Samsung’s mailing lists will probably get special pre-order deals as well, potentially of up to $250 in credits.

Once your reservation is confirmed, you will get details about when the Galaxy Unpacked live stream event will take place, February 9 at 10 a.m. EST.

Rumors had already zoomed in on a February 9 announcement for the Galaxy S22 series. Reports indicate that devices will likely hit stores on February 24. U.S. prices are expected to start at $899 for the standard Galaxy S22, while the Galaxy S22 Plus might start at $1099, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra at $1299.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Specs and Features

The Galaxy S22 series is expected to include a standard Galaxy S22, a Galaxy S22 Plus, and a Galaxy S22 Ultra. The devices are expected to run either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip or the recently announced Samsung Exynos 2200 chip depending on the market; however, western markets, such as the U.S. will likely see the Snapdragon chip.

The standard Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus are expected to maintain designs more typical of the Galaxy S series, with respective 6.06-inch and 6.55-inch displays, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra is rumored to favor the Galaxy Note series more in build with a 6.81-inch display. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also expected to have S-Pen support with the stylus stored in the chassis, much like the original Galaxy Note devices.

Hardware specs for the standard Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus might include 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The Galaxy S22 might have a 3,800mAh battery and the Galaxy S22 Plus a 4,600mAh cell, both with 25W fast charging. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 Ultra might include up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB or even 1TB of internal storage and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

Camera quality is also expected to be another major feature for the Galaxy S22 series, with the standard Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus expected to feature a triple-lens rear set up including, a 50-megapixel wide lens, 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to feature a quad lens rear set up including a 108-megapixel wide-angle lens, two 12-megapixel telephoto lenses with different apertures, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

Among their colors, the standard Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22 Plus are rumored to be available in Beige, Black, Green, Grey, Light Blue, Rose Gold, and White options, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to launch in Black, Dark Red, Green, and White options.
