The Asus Zenfone 6 has been on sale internationally since May but has now made its way to the U.S. with availability at Asus’ online store, B&H (preorder), Amazon, and Mobile Advance. The 2019 affordable flagship has a starting price for $499.99 for its 64GB internal storage model, while its 128GB model is priced at $549.99.
This Zenfone 6 model is GSM unlocked and can be used at a number of carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, AirVoice Wireless, Alaska Communications, Cricket Wireless, H2O Wireless, MetroPCS, Net10 Wireless, Red Pocket Mobile, Simple Mobile, Straight Talk, TracFone, and U.S. Mobile.
In addition to its high-end hardware configurations coupled with a reasonable price tag, the Zenfone 6 is one of many 2019 smartphones that includes the latest iteration of camera tricks. The device features a dual-rear camera that mechanically rotates forward to double as a selfie camera.
It’s set up includes a 48-megapixel standard lens and a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, which allows the device to have an edge-to-edge screen with a 92 percent screen to body ratio and optimal use of the main camera.
A long press of the shutter button will make the lens flip-up slowly, allowing for an ideal panorama shot. Users can also wave a hand in front of the moving camera module to stop it at an angle for unique image positioning. The Zenfone 6 also includes its proximity sensor in the rear module, which allows it to detect falls and retract the camera if it is flipped up.
Standard specs on the Asus Zenfone 6 include its 6.4-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, Adreno 640 GPU, 6GB of RAM, 5,000mAh battery with an 18W fast-charger and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Color options include Midnight Black and Twilight Silver color.
While running a near-stock version of Android 9 Pie, the Asus Zenfone 6 is apart of Google’s Android Q beta program and is also slated to update through Android R.
