“Motorola Razr foldable now ready to release February 6”

The Motorola Razr launch is back on track and now set for February 6 with availability both in stores and online. The device will be available for preorder starting January 26.

The device was originally set to launch January 9 but, Motorola postponed the release due to high demand, it claims. However, the foldable smartphone got immense acclaim at CES 2020, which recently took place in Las Vegas. The Motorola Razr was on display at Lenovo’s booth for attendees to handle. The demo models appeared to hold up against the many patrons fascinated by Motorola’s latest mobile device.

Once available to consumers, the Motorola Razr will sell as a Verizon exclusive, for $1,499.99 or for $62.49 a month for 24 months. As a deal, Verizon is offering up to $500 off the price of the Motorola Razr when new customers trade in an eligible smartphone and subscribe to Verizon’s Unlimited plan. New subscribers will also get a $200 prepaid MasterCard in the deal. Current Verizon customers can get up to $300 off the price of the Motorola Razr when trading in an eligible device.

Outside of the U.S. Motorola is expected to launch the device in markets including Canada, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia; however, those details have not yet been released.

Due to the nature of its design, the Motorola Razr will sell with a warranty that covers 24-hour turnaround replacements, particularly with its display. Users will have to pay $299 for repairs if the device’s issues are not covered by its warranty.

As a safeguard, Motorola will offer a standard warranty, with 24-hour turnaround replacements, focusing on the display. Users will have to pay $299 for repairs if the device’s issues are not covered by its warranty.

The Motorola Razr features a 6.2-inch pOLED display when flat, a 2.7-inch quick view display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chip, and a 2,500mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel front-lens serving as its main camera, and a 5-megapixel fold facing lens as its selfie camera. The foldable also features a fun Retro Razr mode Easter Egg that has the same design as the 2004 Razr keyboard and screen and also says “Hello Moto.”

The Motorola Razr was originally announced on November 13, 2019. Reports indicate Motorola had plans to release the device much earlier in 2019 but it was quietly delayed before news of the device surfaced. If all goes well the Motorola Razr will precede the launch of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1, a foldable PC by Motorola’s parent company. That device is set to launch for the enterprise space in summer 2020, selling for approximately $3,000.
