Verizon has announced it will exclusively offer the Lenovo Flex 5G, the world’s first 5G laptop. The portable computer will be available starting June 18 selling for $1,399.99, or for $58.33 a month for 24 months under the Verizon Device Payment plan.
The Lenovo Flex 5G features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx chip to enable 5G as well as to support up to 24 hours of battery life for an “always-on” computing experience. Its display is a 14-inch 1080p touchscreen and also features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage, two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, a fingerprint reader. The laptop runs Microsoft Windows 10 Pro and will also come with a year of Microsoft 365 Personal for free.
To accompany the 5G laptop and likely similar devices in the future, Verizon has also introduced a 5G Unlimited laptop plan. Verizon customers can add this plan to their current lines for $30 per month while new subscribers with no other plans will pay $90 per month. This new plan provides customers with Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband service, which includes unlimited access to 5G Ultra Wideband, unlimited access to 5G Ultra Wideband hotspots, and unlimited 4K HD-quality streaming video.
Verizon’s 5G network is currently supported in 35 cities nationwide, so those interested in the Lenovo Flex 5G for its connectivity should be mindful of where it works best.
