Rumors about the OnePlus 6T are heating up after images of retail packaging surfaced, which reveal a number of potential specs and features for the smartphone. SlashLeaks recently shared the high-quality images of the packaging, which originated from the Chinese social media platform Weibo and show pretty clear evidence of the OnePlus 6T’s existence.
If the packaging is real, the upcoming smartphone by OnePlus could have an in-display fingerprint scanner as a primary feature. It may also have a truncated top-notch, which may house only its front-facing camera lens. This varies wildly from the OnePlus 6, which has a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and a front speaker and its front-facing camera lens inside a much wider top-notch.

Chinese manufacturer, Oppo, which owns OnePlus, has already coined the “waterdrop notch” on its Oppo R17 Pro smartphone, which was announced in August. The OnePlus 6T is expected to have some design similarities, including a 6.4-inch display. Hardware wise, rumors suggest a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, 6GB and 8GB of RAM options and 64GB, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. The device will likely maintain a dual-camera system with a few feature updates.
The OnePlus 6T could make its debut later this year with a starting price of about $550, a slight bump from the $529 starting price of the OnePlus 6. In addition to unlocked models, the OnePlus 6T is set to release on the U.S. carrier T-Mobile. OnePlus confirmed the collaboration in August, potentially beating the likes of long-standing companies including Huawei and ZTE, which have been vying for carrier support for years but have ultimately been blocked by the U.S. government.
