“Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus price could be the highest to date for February 20 launch”

The first hints of a launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S10 have surfaced, suggesting the device may be unveiled at an Unpacked event on February 20, 2019. The device may quickly be available for preorder and then release to market on March 8, 2019, according to Gizmodo U.K.

If accurate, this could indicate that the Galaxy S10 may be announced ahead of the annual MWC convention in Barcelona, which takes place February 25-28, 2019. Many companies host keynotes during the media days ahead of MWC. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S9 on February 25, before MWC 2018 took place from February 26 to March 1. For 2019, media dates will likely be between February 22 and 24.

It makes sense that Samsung may want to have a special launch for the Galaxy S10, as the company will commemorate the tenth-anniversary model of the Galaxy S line. However, this news leaves a question as to whether the Galaxy S10 launch will be hosted in Barcelona or somewhere else.

Samsung has been following a similar method with its Galaxy Note line, announcing its latest devices at standalone events in New York ahead of the IFA convention, which takes place in Berlin. Regardless of Samsung’s launch schedule, the manufacturer is sure to have new products to show off once MWC begins.

Prospective pricing details have also surfaced for the Galaxy S10. Rumors suggest there may be at least three models of the device, including a Galaxy S10 Lite, a standard Galaxy S10 model, and a Galaxy S10 Plus.

The Galaxy S10 Lite may feature a flat 5.8-inch display, 128GB of internal storage, and a lb669 price tag. The standard Galaxy S10 may feature a 6.1-inch curved display and 128GB and 512GB internal storage options, potentially selling for lb799 and lb999 respectively. The Galaxy S10 Plus may feature a 6.4-inch curved display and 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal storage options, with prospective prices of lb899, lb1099, and lb1399.

Luckily, U.S. dollars don’t convert directly from British pounds, or the top tier Galaxy S10 Plus would cost $1,766. Currently, all features and prices for the Galaxy S10 remain unconfirmed but U.S. consumers can expect similar price figures in dollar amounts.

Samsung’s early year launch will be just the beginning of a rather busy product cycle in 2019. The manufacturer is also expected to launch a Galaxy S10 model with 5G connectivity. The device may feature a 6.7-inch display and up to six camera lenses. This model likely won’t launch before the end of the second quarter, which is between April and June. Samsung’s Infinity Flex foldable device is also in the pipeline for a prospective mid-year launch.
